The centuries old art of Flemish oil glazing is still practiced today by an elite group of photographic artists.  I've been fortunate to form a business relationship with one such artist (learn more about our artist, Lynn Sanders at www.fortinandsanders.com) .  Her unique discipline combines the use of photography and stylized oil painting in which translucent layers of oil pigment and a lacquer glaze are applied directly to the photograph itself.  This Mixed Media of incorporating quality photography and meticulous layers of hand embellishment produces a piece that will stand as fine art and be treasured for generations.

 *Glazed: Image is printed by a professional lab and dry mounted. Artist paints directly on portrait using diluted pigment.  Additional fees apply for 3 or more subjects and will be based on the complexity of details in the image.

 **Full Oil  : Image is printed by a professional lab and dry mounted. This process is similar to the glazing in that several layers of hand embellishment will be applied directly to the photograph.  While the glazing is a light oil (using diluted pigment), the full oil will be a medium oil with little to no dilution of the paint.  The end result is a largely untextured, medium oil effect while retaining photographic detail and integrity.  Additional fees may be required for 3 or more subjects based on the complexity of details in the image. (Enlarged views of full oil below. Note the layers of paint in both the flowers and the coat of the golden retriever. It's the layering that adds depth to the final image.)

The production time on the oil enhancement pieces will vary according to the difficulty of the piece and the artists' work load. Plan on a minimum 4-6 weeks turnaround time and possibly more during holiday periods.

The trend is going back to handwritten notes.  Why not share your favorite images along with your words of encouragement?  Your selected image is printed on a 4x5 inch watercolor note card.  At no extra charge we will include a second image (thumbnail size) printed on the inside of the card as well!  Parchment  envelopes are included.  (Watercolor note cards are off white.  The inside is blank for your personal message.)

You may choose to have us decide on the best frame to compliment your selected image.  Or, you are invited to our studio to view "corner" samples of our line of designer frames.  Quality mouldings, mats and hardware are used to assemble your finished piece.  The backs of the frames are always covered and bumpers & tubing are used to prevent scratches on your walls.

Signature boards (or signature mats) are used for memorable occasions, such as weddings, anniversaries, graduations, milestone birthdays - you name it.  Guests at the party sign the mat, creating lasting memories with personalization.  The mat then is framed with your selected image.  Consider this in addition to, or in place of, a guestbook so well wishes can always be on display!
